Ultrasonic controls add features, functionality

Four new models have been added to the Dynamic Process Controller (DPC) line of ultrasonic systems from Dukane. Each model features an intuitive user interface and a power supply module designed around a thermostatically controlled cooling channel.

The Level 1 DPC is compact, customizable, and designed for easy integration with automated machinery. According to Dukane, the modular component design maximizes flexibility and cost effectiveness by allowing selection of various power levels. The system comes standard with other DPC features, including a linear-ramp soft start, pulse-width modulation, line and load regulation, and Auto-trac tuning.

The Level II DPC is designed for use with Dukane?s ultrasonic handheld or machine-mounted probe systems. It has the same integration features as the Level 1 DPC, but with an optional rack-mountable chassis.

Featuring a 16-bit microprocessor and optional user interface, the Level III DPC can reportedly handle the bulk of ultrasonic assembly applications. It provides real-time multitasking, line and load regulation, self-diagnostics, dual-pressure modes, and optional remote setup switching.

Of the four models, the Level IV DPC has the most advanced integration capabilities. Including a 32-bit RISC microprocessor, its networking capabilities for multihead and automated systems provide centralized setup and monitoring through a single user interface. More advanced features include digital amplitude control in 1 percent increments, a multitasking operation system for simultaneous control of process parameters, and primary and secondary control functions to reduce rejects and increase part consistency.
