Web-only Product: Blender doses large quantities

Article-Web-only Product: Blender doses large quantities

Processors with high-throughput production lines can dose large quantities of hard-to-handle bulk powders like additives and wood flour with a new super-sized gravimetric blender. The MaxiBatch weigh-scale blender is rated for processing throughputs of up to 8000 lb/hr with a batch size of 66 lb. This increases the throughput by 60% and the batch size by 67% over the next largest Maguire blenders, the 1800 Series. The blender?s nine removable hoppers each incorporate its own dispensing device designed for metering in large quantities. Ingredients are dispensed sequentially into a weigh chamber, and the batch then falls into a mixing chamber. Dispensing devices include vertical valves for resin pellets and regrind, and auger feeders for powders, granules, and pulverized materials. The hoppers are interchangeable for easy changes in batch recipe. The blender?s microprocessor controller automatically makes small corrections from batch to batch in order to maintain batch accuracy to ±.1%.
