WorldStar Packaging Awards 2016 now accepting entries

The World Packaging Organization (WPO; Naperville, IL) is now accepting entries for its WorldStar Packaging Awards. The deadline is September 18, 2015, and entries will be judged in Mumbai, India, on October 8-10, 2015.“We encourage every WPO member across the Globe to help us promote the largest and most important global packaging award,” said Thomas Schneider, President of WPO. Winners from 2015 WorldStar Packaging Awards.Packages eligible for WorldStar are those that have already received a national award recognized by WPO. “In its 47th year, WorldStar is one of the major events of WPO and last year attracted 248 entries from 37 countries around the world. As always our aim for our next competition is to increase the number of entries and countries participating,” adds Schneider.WorldStars are presented only to those packages which, having already won recognition in a national competition, are compared by an expert panel of judges to similar packages from around the world. Awards are based on the judges' consensus that a package is superior in its own right, and better in its class in execution or innovation by comparison.Results will be announced in December and there will be an awards presentation and dinner in Budapest, Hungary, in May 2016.
