An acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate (ASA) grade from Ineos Styrolution has been selected by Chinese OEM Dongfeng Motor Corp. for its Voyah Free SUV launched in June 2021. Luran S 778T SPF30 combines UV resistance and a premium paint-free, high-gloss appearance with good dimensional stability. The polymer is used for the front grille and fog-lamp cover of the Voyah SUV. Voyah is the premium electric vehicle (EV) brand of Dongfeng.

The Luran S range from Ineos Styrolution is promoted as the material of choice for unpainted exterior applications. Luran S reportedly offers outstanding properties for long-term use and for a high-quality surface appearance. In addition, it is said to be an ideal material for hot-stamping technology that allows for aesthetic effects. In particular, it offers weathering stability for outdoor applications even when unpainted, making it a trusted material of choice across various industries, including automotive, construction, and household goods, according to Ineos Styrolution.

Jiayu Chen, Material Director, Voyah, said that the performance of Luran S 778T SPF30 exactly fit the needs of the application. “Its combination of weatherability and paint-free, high-gloss, deep dark color provide a premium appearance for the front grille and fog-lamp cover of our new Voyah Free.”
