Freudenberg Medical Completes Construction of Medical Manufacturing Facility in Massachusetts

The newly built 36,000-square-foot facility, which will serve as the company’s new global headquarters, includes an ISO Class 8 cleanroom for molding and assembly.

Freudenberg Medical has completed construction of a new medical manufacturing operation in Beverly, MA, near Boston. The facility will serve as the company’s new global headquarters and will manufacture medical devices and components in medical and implant-grade silicones and high-performance plastics. A global developer and manufacturer of specialty components and finished devices for the medical device industry, Freudenberg Medical is a member of the Freudenberg Group, a global technology company headquartered in Weinheim, Germany.

The newly built 36,000-square-foot facility includes expanded manufacturing and innovation facilities and an ISO Class 8 cleanroom for molding and assembly. The operation is certified to ISO 13485 and FDA registered.

Freudenberg Medical has a long history in the region. The previous operation in Gloucester, MA, had been in operation since 1989 and is a leading processor of silicone and thermoplastic components for medical and healthcare applications.

Freudenberg Medical operates 11 manufacturing facilities and employs more than 1,700 associates worldwide. The company offers a range of capabilities from precision molded components and tubing to drug coatings, finished devices, composite catheter shafts, and hypotubes for minimally invasive, handheld, and catheter-based devices.
