Del Monte ready-to-eat fruit

Rigid plastics packaging processor RPC Bebo Nederland (Goor, The Netherlands) is thermoforming a package of its own patented design for food major Del Monte Foods for its launch of a new range of ‘ready to eat’ fruit slices with extended shelf life.

Del Monte Citrus Bowls are available in three flavors: Red Grapefruit, Citrus Salad (red and white grapefruit and oranges), and Grapefruit Duo (red and white grapefruit).

RPC’s containers include ribs set into the pack walls to help provide vacuum resistance and compression strength. Thermoformed in PP/EVOH/PP, the bowl is transparent and comes with a re-sealable lid. The Red Grapefruit Citrus Bowl was launched in July 2008 into U.S. grocery stores and Wal-Mart Supercenters, with the other flavors now entering the market.—[email protected]
