The September Frankfurt auto show (IAA) will feature a dedicated hall showcasing new electric-vehicle technology. The German Auto Industry Association (VDA), which organizes the world's largest car show, said the Hall for Electric Mobility will feature manufactuers of electric vehicles such as Daimler, Opel, Renault and Mitsubishi.

Mitsubishi will be among those automakers present at the Frankfurt auto shows electric pavilion.

Component suppliers including Robert Bosch and Siemens will also be present; as will other companies involved in this automotive transformation such as IBM, BASF and E.ON; together with associations and universities. PlasticsToday will also be covering the show live from the floor so you can look forward to further insights.

"This initiative, which goes across industries, is meant to illustrate the changes taking place in the automotive value chain," says VDA President Matthias Wissmann. "It shows that tomorrow's mobility requires a joint effort that easily crosses the traditional borders between individual industries."

During the IAA, two major conferences focusing on electric vehicles and new automotive technologies are also planned. On Sept 21, the VDA is organizing an electro-mobility conference featuring key board members of the major German automakers. And on Sept 22, automotiveIT is holding its carIT - Mobility 3.0 conference.-[email protected]
