Honeywell’s new Asia/Pacific headquarters in Shanghai includes a development laboratory for its Specialty Materials unit among the operations in the 160,000-sq-ft facility. Also present are Honeywell’s Automation & Control Solutions and Transportation Systems units, a software development lab, an engine and turbocharger testing center, and the administrative services for all Honeywell activity in the Asia/Pacific region. Citing the "wealth of talent available in China," Honeywell says the software lab will support Honeywell businesses worldwide. When completed, the complex will have about 2500 employees and Honeywell will have invested almost $80 million in the physical plant. Honeywell already has about 4000 employees at 29 facilities in China, generating around $500 million of annual revenue.
