Web-exclusive: Two French Wittmann sites become one

Wittmann France has consolidated its operations in a new home in Chassal, which replaces a granulator production plant in Oyonnax and a toolmaking site in St. Claude. Paul Regad, the former moldmaker in St. Claude, was purchased by Wittmann in 2006 and is fully integrated into Wittmann's automated inmold labeling (IML) systems business.

Granulator manufacturing takes place in a 900m² area, which includes a 12-by-4m paint shop as well as a testing facility with capacity for 12 granulators. In addition to a storeroom for single components and spare parts, other space is allocated for an inventory of 200 finished granulators (Minor, Junior, and MAS series). Another 900m² is used for moldmaking. Finally, Wittmann has added two injection machines (200 and 420 tons) for testing molds with its IML robotic systems.
