Matrix preps for growth in medical device market

Partners Matrix Tooling Inc. and Matrix Plastic Products (Wood Dale, IL) are in the process of completing their new Class 100,000 clean room and adding ISO 13485 compliance to their existing ISO 9000-2000 quality system. Both enhancements are designed to better meet the needs of medical device customers and prepare for further growth in that market. Currently, the Matrix team shares a 30,000-sq-ft facility.

Matrix Tooling is a full-service designer and manufacturer of plastic injection molds, including micromolding and multishot tools, with molding machines ranging from 22-300 tons. The new clean room will utilize electric presses equipped with robotics and vision systems for unattended front-line inspection capabilities, with an eye on identifying any potential problems at the earliest possible stage. Matrix Tooling Inc. and Matrix Plastic Products are both showcasing their capabilities at NPE in booth #11252 in the inaugural North American Moldmakers Pavilion.
