"We're quite excited about the acquisition; we always find the packaging sector is a very attractive segment," Tom Ritchie, managing director of CI Capital Partners, told PlasticsToday. "What particularly attracted us was that the company maintains a very broad set of packaging offerings, which gives us a base to assume additional acquisitions."

IntraPac possesses an extensive range of plastic packaging technologies including blow molding, injection molding, caps and closures, and tube products. The company focuses on the personal care and pharmaceutical markets, as well as food/beverage, and household, and industrial chemicals.

Going forward, Ritchie said IntraPac will continue to pursue both organic growth and acquisition opportunities.

"Previously, the company has done a very effective job looking for acquisitions," he said. "We look forward to adding to that portfolio of specialty packaging products and technologies."

Based in Toronto, ON, IntraPac employs more than 750 people in eight production facilities spanning North and Central America.

CI Capital's existing portfolio consists of companies, which collectively generate annual revenue of approximately $5 billion, EBITDA of approximately $400 million, and have approximately 15,000 employees.
