It's said that changing a habit takes 30 days. So taking that idea to heart, Dow packaging and speciality plastics has launched a new awareness campaign called Recycle Rally - A 30 day Recycling Challenge. This campaign challenges users to make recycling part of their every day routine, while offering information, tools and tips to help people become a better recycler.
No matter your level of recycling know-how, Recycle Rally is an interactive tool that is beneficial to everyone (yes, including those in the plastics industry). Whether you're a 'beginner' or 'pro,' Recycle Rally is trying to get everyone to "step up" their recycling game.
Here's how it works: once you enter the interactive site and commit to the Recycle Rally challenge, you will take a quiz to determine what level recycler you are - beginner, professional or expert. Based on your recycling results, your recycler profile will provide access to a wealth of tips, recycling statistics and fun facts tailored to your needs. These resources will challenge you to push outside of your recycling comfort zone to become a better recycler in your own community.
Hopefully people do take advantages of tools like this. After all, in 2012, Americans generated 251 million tons of trash, but only recycled 34.5 percent of their waste. Dow says this campaign is a great opportunity to increase awareness about how recycling efforts can positively impact communities around the country.
Sounds like a good plan to me and I'm going to take the challenge. Why don't you join me?
