Oklahoma-based Argonaut Private Equity buys Tier 1 supplier.

Automotive supplier JAC Products changes hands

JAC Products Inc., based in Pontiac, MI, announced on Oct. 31 the sale of the company to Tulsa-based Argonaut Private Equity LLC.  The sale was effective Oct. 28, 2016. 

JAC Products is a Tier 1 designer, manufacturer and global supplier of original equipment roof racks, cargo management systems, running boards and step rails to leading original equipment manufacturers. The company has more than 1,500 employees.

JAC Products was previously owned by Wynnchurch Capital LLC. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

The management team at JAC is remaining with the company to drive implementation of its strategic growth plans. JAC is diversifying its product mix and expanding globally into new markets.

CEO Mike Wood will continue his leadership role at JAC. “JAC is in a major growth phase and this new ownership is committed to the implementation of our strategic plan. It is an exciting time for JAC and we look forward to strengthening our relationships with our customers by providing new, innovative products in the markets they serve. This is great news for our customers, our employees and all of our stakeholders,” Wood said.
