As part of an intensive expansion of its facilities in Germany and Italy, with double-figure million euro investment, liquid silicone rubber (LSR) molder starlim//sterner (Marchtrenk, Austria) took delivery of its 250th Engel injection molding machine. Starlim//sterner uses tiebarless Engels at its plants in Austria, Canada, Italy, and Germany. The company is increasingly utilizing tiebarless Engel victory machines with dual servo-hydraulics. According to Thomas Bründl, managing director of the starlim//sterner group, that style of machine has helped the company cut energy use by around 40% compared to conventional, hydraulic machines.
