A partnership has created an integrated system for tracking and inspecting molded PET preforms. Husky and Pressco have produced a system to inspect preforms, allowing molders to track scrap rates and downtime. The system also assists with quality control.

Currently in Beta testing, the prototype workcell consists of a Husky Index 250 PET machine with a 48-cavity preform mold. It also includes Husky product handling equipment and a Pressco Intellispec-PSW3 inline inspection system. Instead of manually pulling samples, all parts are automatically inspected. The mold?s 48 cavities are monitored to provide data for each cavity.Husky Injection Molding
