Plastics Industry Association invites PLASTEC West attendees to cocktail reception

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS; Washington, DC) is inviting attendees of PLASTEC West next month to a cocktail reception with President and CEO Bill Carteaux. The reception, which will be held in room 204A at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA, from 5 to 6:30 PM on Feb. 8, is free but registration is required on the PLASTICS website.

PLASTICS President and CEO Bill Carteaux.

Carteaux and members of his staff will discuss industry issues as well as the association’s recent rebranding, as reported last month in PlasticsToday.

Carteaux told PlasticsToday that he is looking forward to coming to Southern California in February, and not just because of the weather. “We recently released our annual Size & Impact Report, in which California showed impressive employment numbers, falling number two to Texas and becoming the second largest state for total plastics employment,” said Carteaux. “On the heels of these impressive numbers, we anticipate populous California will continue to be a leading plastics producer due to its large number of residents and optimal location near manufacturers.”

In other news, PLASTICS announced today that Carteaux will serve as Chair of the National Association of Manufacturers' Council of Manufacturing Associations for a one-year term. Chris Jahn, President of the Fertilizer Institute, will serve as Vice Chair. Carteaux previously served as Vice Chair of the CMA, and Jahn served as the second Vice Chair.

Co-located with the medical manufacturing show MD&M West, PLASTEC West is part of the largest annual design and manufacturing event in North America. Hundreds of leading suppliers across the advanced design and manufacturing spectrum along with more than 20,000 engineers and executives are expected to attend. For more information, go to the PLASTEC West website.
