Coating provides smooth hard surfaces

The new Magnaplate HMF coating produces an extremely hard (up to an equivalent of 68 Rockwell C) mirror-smooth (down to 4 RMS) micro finish on most ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Good temperature resistance is also provided, while maintaining properties at operating temperatures of -150 to 650F. HMF is said to offer permanent lubricity and maximum abrasion, corrosion, chemical, and moisture resistance, without the peeling, chipping, and flaking seen with chrome. Features include elimination of static buildup and good heat transfer. HMF is ideally suited for applications where mold release properties are important. The coating is USDA/FDA compliant, making it useful in food and drug applications as well as most types of packaging and closures. Price was not given.
