Compounder O'Neil expands New Jersey operations

O'Neil Color & Compounding, a supplier of color masterbatches and custom compounds for the plastics processing industry, has announced the expansion of operations at its Garfield, NJ, facilities.

According to O'Neil Vice President Phil DeChard, "the company has added both production and laboratory capabilities as the beginning of a three-year plan to deliver higher value, faster turnaround and a wider range of products and services to our customers."

Recent improvements include a new twin-screw, 27-mm quick-turn line for sampling; three new injection molding machines for faster and more accurate color matching; and a complete retrofit of the facility's dust-collection system as part of O'Neil's ongoing commitment to green manufacturing practices.

DeChard said that this is just the first phase of a company-wide plan to improve capabilities and expand capacity at O'Neil's Garfield plant and its Jasper, TN, facility.

O'Neil Color & Compounding, a division of Primex Plastics Corp., was founded in New York in 1957. The company produces color concentrates, additive masterbatches and specialty compounds, including high-performance custom compounds such as flame-retardant, anti-static, ESD, structural, wear-resistant and TPE materials for injection, extrusion, blowmolding and rotational molding applications.
