Article-Dyna-Purge introduces new purge compound for a wide range of applications

Shuman Plastics has introduced its new Dyna-Purge D2, a technology that reportedly enables users to purge more plastics with just one product. The new Dyna-Purge D2 delivers ease of use through its scrubbing formulation and wider processing temperature range, making it an ideal for injection, extrusion, compounding and blowmolding applications. According to Dyna-Purge VP Tim Cutler, the new purge compound is "able to do the heavy lifting other commercial purging compounds can't handle."

"An independent study on the new Dyna-Purge D2 demonstrates that it is more effective than mechanical (abrasive) and chemical purging compounds, resulting in faster cleaning and less downtime," he said. "Dyna-Purge D2 saves time and money as it lowers purging costs and scrap rates. And it's so easy to use with no processing adjustment or mixing required."

Dyna-Purge D2 features a "triple action" technology that thoroughly cleans and removes material from the screw and barrel as well as the tool or die. With a temperature range of 350°F to 625°F (177°C to 329°C), Dyna-Purge D2 is effective at purging virtually all resins with consistent and reliable results, the company stated.
