Entek Manufacturing has announced the opening of a new manufacturing and engineering facility in Henderson, NV. The 98,000-square-foot building will be home to wear parts production, fabrication and assembly, and engineering, said the news release distributed on Oct. 1.
Entek is experiencing “record growth,” according to Linda Campbell, VP of Sales. The company recently expanded the machine shop at its headquarters in Lebanon, OR, "but we already need more space, and more workers to keep up with our wear parts business,” said Campbell. The company also operates manufacturing facilities in the United Kingdom and Indonesia.
More than $10 million is being invested in new equipment at the Nevada facility, and Entek said it will begin interviewing and hiring immediately. Entek President Kim Medford said that she expects to hire 50 or more new employees by late 2022. “Once fully operational, our new facility will allow us to stock parts for rapid customer response,” she said.
Entek manufactures turnkey production extrusion systems, twin-screw extruders, and components. It is a leading supplier of extrusion technology for natural fiber-plastic composites, pelletizing, custom compounding, specialty sheet lines, food and medical applications, and plastics recycling.
Entek hired an outside firm to help with site selection, and the greater Las Vegas metro area came out on top. Nevada is a growing area of the country with a strong labor market, said Medford, and the Las Vegas area came out first when it came to the availability of skilled labor, such as machinists and engineers.
Entek has developed an aggressive forecast for new business in 2022 and 2023, said Campbell. “This expansion is the first step in what we expect to be a very active period for our company.”
