Melt-processible rubber, often considered an alternative to soft TPEs and vulcanized rubber, is being offered by Advanced Polymer Alloys (APA) in a harder grade than previously available from the company. Alcryn MPR 5085BK, with hardness of 85 Shore A, may be used for automotive seals and gaskets and is composed of 30 percent postindustrial recycled material. The new grade is priced 20 percent lower than APA?s other injection molding grades,at $2.35/lb.
