IDES launches spot resin market

IDES (Laramie, WY), which is well known within the plastics industry for its comprehensive online index of materials and their properties, has expanded its web platform into resin sales, creating a spot market that lists more than 5 million lb of resin. Called The Plastics Marketplace, IDES says the goal of new product is to provide “spot market resins for purchase from quality, reputable suppliers.”

IDES says the site will list a wide range of plastics, offering everything from virgin to scrap, with each material listed by date, generic family, product name and description, forms, packaging, color, lb, price per lb, and geographic location including city, state, and country. IDES says it has registered 200,000 individuals at its Plastics Web resource, and it believes the Plastics Marketplace will serve to increase site traffic.
