New inline water filters with a built-in maintenance indicator alert users when they are dirty and need to be cleaned or replaced. This simple feature can save molders from clogged cooling lines that can lead to costly maintenance and downtime, according to Globeius Inc., the North American distributor of the filters designed and manufactured by Denmark’s Mouldpro ApS.

Easy to clean and maintain, Mouldpro filters consist of two housing parts and a filter. The filter inserts can be cleaned in an ultrasonic bath, or simply replaced; Globeius stocks replacement cartridges at its Miami, FL, facility.  

The new maintenance indicator option is available on both standard and stainless-steel filters. The latter are suited for conformal-cooling tooling channels and can be used with water or oil-based coolants at flow volumes up to 80 L/min and within a -10 to 260°C temperature range.
