At booth 4011, Husky Technologies will showcase medical molding innovations, notably its high-performance Schöttli molds and integrated Ichor system, which provides a complete end-to-end solution for the production of blood-collection tubes (BCT).
The fully integrated Ichor BCT injection molding system includes a machine and robot, mold, hot runner, controller, and auxiliary equipment. It achieves a cycle time of less than 6 seconds for a 13-x-100-mm tube and overall 97% efficiency. The BCT system is based on proven PET technology and comes with remote monitoring services.
Husky said it will also feature innovations in hot runners and controllers for medical applications at the booth.
The UltraShot hot-runner injection molding system pictured below utilizes servo-controlled injection that allows for precise control of the melt by positioning the shooting pots close to the gates and pressurizing the resin near the cavities. This reduces shear and thermal variations in part quality and performance, allowing for greater flexibility in part design and removing constraints caused by traditional injection molding processes, said Husky. This system is particularly well-suited for medical injection molding due to its precision, according to Husky.
