As the world faces a shortage of energy and resources, many countries have put forth green strategies in the attempt to manage these issues.
"In China, the government is putting more efforts into building up an environment-friendly society as to drive China toward environmental protection, safety and sustainable development," according to Adsale, organizer of the Chinaplas International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries.
With the advancement of industrial technologies, the application of plastics and rubber has also increased. Besides the four key industries, automotive, electronic and electrical appliances, packaging, and building and construction, plastics consumption is on the rise in other sectors, such as medical, lighting, photovoltaic, textiles and toys.
Adsale pointed out that the wide application of plastics and rubber materials not only reduces energy consumption in the process of manufacturing, but also makes recycling possible as to assist the sustainable development of an economy.
The 27th edition of Chinaplas, which is held in Shanghai and Guangzhou in alternate years, will return to Guangzhou this year and will be staged at the China Import and Export Fair Complex, Pazhou, Guangzhou (May 20-23, 2013). PlasticsToday will be reporting live from the event.
To address the development trends of different industries and meet the sourcing needs of local and overseas buyers, Chinaplas 2013 will introduce diversified solutions, new plastic materials and innovative technology with lower energy consumption and value added features, according to Adsale.
Stanley Chu, chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services, expressed in the press conference held in Guangzhou on March 5, that upgrading and transformation is necessary for an enterprise's success, whereas more R&D effort and exploration of new applications are essential for business development.
China's demand for plastic processing machinery has grown at a fast pace in the past decade, according to Research and Markets. In the next five years, both production and demand will continue to grow.
Chinaplas 2013 looks like it will again break the past record in scale. The exhibition area will exceed 220,000 sq m, which consists of 25 exhibition halls located at Zone A and B of the exhibition complex.
With an ever-increasing scale of Cinaplas, the new edition expects to have more than 500 new exhibitors. Moreover, many exhibitors have expanded their booth areas, such as Huangyan Hanwei at Die & Mold Zone; Yizumi at Injection Molding Machinery Zone and Xinle Huabao. The organizer revealed that a large film line with the size of 25m x 10m will be displayed by Xinle Huabao at the Extrusion Machinery Zone.
More than 2800 exhibitors coming from 36 countries together with 14 countries/regions pavilions from Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, PR China, Taiwan, Singapore, Swiss, Turkey, UK and U.S. will exhibit new chemicals and raw materials as well as more than 200 machines. The organizer expects that this four-day exhibition will attract more than 115,000 visitors from 150 countries/regions and more than 100 buyer groups.
The future is now, and it's plastics
Chinaplas 2012 will continue to apply the theme of last year, "The Future is in Plastics and Rubber," which means that plastics and rubber are new materials and are closely related to all aspects of life. With the wide range of applications, the new materials play a vital role in improving our future life and promoting the continuous development of other industries, through contributing to energy conservation and environmental protection, according to Adsale.
At Chinaplas 2012 the Future Zone exhibit was dedicated to the promotion of the automotive industry, Chinaplas 2013 will put the focus on the building industry and organize the "Archi-Light" concurrent event to showcase environment-friendly plastic building materials that combine aesthetic and attractive elements. Chinaplas will set up an exhibition area and hold seminars and forums so that the visitors could experience in person the environmental protection features and the merit of plastics building materials.
In addition, Chinaplas will launch a new exhibition called the Film Technology Zone, which seeks to cater for the increasing needs of plastic film buyers from the medical, electronics, I.T., solar power, packaging and building industries. This zone will be located in hall 8.1 of the Fair Complex, with a number of film technology suppliers, such as Sun Centre, Webcontrol, Han King, Queen's, Jandi's, Conair, Andritz, Atlas, Rajoo, ESOPP, Bobst, HCH, Guangda and General.
The zone will jointly showcase a wide range of exhibits including extrusion lines for blown film, flat film and sheets, stretching lines for film and filament, slitter rewinders, winding equipment, measuring & testing equipment for film, auxiliary equipment for film extrusion lines, printing machines for film, lamination and coating machines and other film processing technologies. Buyers of this theme zone can also discover more related exhibits at the Plastic Packaging & Blowmolding Machinery Zone.
The year, the size of the Die & Mold Zone will increase by 18%. Located in hall 3.2 and 4.2, the zone will display various kinds of molds and processing equipment, such as blowmolds, CAD-CAM, extrusion dies, hotrunner systems, injection & compression molds, mold & die cleaning equipment, mold clamping systems & energy couplings, standard parts for molds, steel for molds, texturing and mold fixing devices.
More than 200 Chinese and international mold players, such as LKM, Push, Sino Mould, Jing Cheng Mould, Mold Masters, Yudo, Hotsys, Mould-Tip, Incoe, Keda, Sure Hot Runner, Carl Zeiss, Huida and Hexagon Metrology, together with two pavilions organized by Hong Kong Mold & Die Council (HKMDC) and Taiwan Mold & Die Industry Association, will demonstrate their strong participation with their flagship technology.
Exhibiting the first time at Chinaplas, the HKMDC pavilion has confirmed an exhibition area of about 400 sq m as well as a demonstration zone of about 200 sq m, showcasing the latest technology of Hong Kong Die and Mold Industry, and a live demonstration of the injection molding process. Exhibits such as a HK-made 5-axis CNC machine, mold 3D finishing machined by 24000 rpm high speed machine and CAMDER coordinate advance milling and drilling machine will be displayed.
In order to facilitate professional buyers to source their interested exhibits in a more efficient way, two specialized regions will be established under the Chemicals & Raw Materials Zone, which are the Color Pigment & Masterbatch Zone and Additive Zone, located in hall 9.3 and 10.3 respectively. More than 170 related suppliers will show their presence in these two specialized zones, such as Liwang, Meilian, Orion, Hongda, Sunris, Dunwa, AGC, GCH, Qujing Zhongyi, Boiln, Canal and East Hongqiao. The organizer believes that this newly centralized arrangement will provide a more user-friendly and effective sourcing platform for buyers to source color pigment, masterbatch and additive.
The other themed zones to facilitate buyers from different industries to visit and search their interested exhibitors effectively, include Injection Molding Machinery Zone, Extrusion Machinery Zone, Rubber Machinery & Equipment Zone, Auxiliary & Testing Equipment Zone, Semi-finished Products Zone, Bioplastics Zone and Chinese Export Machinery & Materials Hall.
Online pre-registration is available now at Chinaplas Online, and visitors who complete online registration before March 15, 2013 will get their visitor badges in advance to enjoy free admission and a coupon for the exhibition catalogue, which has a total value of RMB150. In addition, Chinaplas 2013 has a mobile website and app, where visitors can search for exhibitors information and get the latest exhibition information with their mobile phones, such as technical seminars and press releases.
