Nexeo Plastics has been named a key distributor for Teknor Apex’s portfolio of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) in Europe. The partnership, effective Jan. 1, 2023, will provide Nexeo Plastics customers in Europe, save for Scandinavia and the Baltic region, with access to TPEs marketed under the Sarlink and Monprene brands.

The TPE technologies include styrenic block copolymers (SBC or TPS), thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPV), and specialty adhesion-modified grades for multi-shot molding onto a variety of engineering resins.

Sarlink TPVs are suited for sealing applications that require elasticity and long-term performance and are routinely used in the automotive, industrial, consumer, and building & construction markets. Sarlink styrenic-based TPEs provide automotive OEMs with more design flexibility and superior colorability for interior applications, said Teknor Apex.

Monprene TPEs are known for their versatility, featuring a wide hardness range and broad thermal performance. These materials are typically used in consumer products, industrial applications, and packaging. Grades formulated for food-contact applications are available.

This agreement follows an announcement in November 2022 that Nexeo Plastics will distribute Teknor Apex’s full line of TPEs in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the United States starting on January 1 of this year. Nexeo Plastics has been distributing Teknor Apex's Medalist medical products in North America for a decade.
