Comar marked the completion of its move to a new building in West Bend, WI, and tripling of capacity with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Dec. 15 in the company of local dignitaries and partner companies.

The supplier of specialty packaging products and custom molded medical devices and assemblies was joined at the ribbon cutting by customers, West Bend Mayor Christophe Jenkins, local Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Toni Gumina, several Chamber of Commerce ambassadors, engineering partners from Strang Inc., and construction partners from Maas Brothers.

The West Bend 2.0 project involved moving operations from Comar’s former site to a new building less than five miles away within a nine-month time frame. The new facility triples Comar's local footprint to 160,000 square feet and houses an array of advanced manufacturing capabilities, including high-tonnage molding machines, large cavitation molds, and press-side automation. Comar said the expansion will allow it to increase production of specialty packaging, including stock extrusion blow-molded containers, injection-molded lids and closures, and a variety of engineered custom products and assemblies. Quality systems are certified to ISO 9001.

This latest expansion caps an “incredible year of capability growth for Comar,” said CEO Mike Ruggieri. "In the past 12 months, the company worked diligently to expand nationwide. In addition to this Midwest expansion, we enhanced our East Coast presence with our new Vineland, NJ, location and combined two plants into one state-of-the-art facility at Rancho Cucamonga, CA. I am incredibly proud of the focus and hard work the organization has put into supporting the growth of our current and future customers,” said Ruggieri.
