Dow to launch PacXpert technology in China

pacxpert.jpgPacXpert's award-winning technology allows manufactures to changeover from rigid containers to flexible packaging. The flexible stand-up cube-shaped pouch is designed to be durable, lightweight, and cost-effective. Shelf stable, it can stand equally well upright or on its side. Empty packages can ship flat, increasing shipping and warehouse efficiency, and possibly reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Emptied containers also take up less receptacle space when discarded.

Dow has licensed the technology from Smart Bottle and sub-licenses it to converters who implement it in their flexible packaging products. It has been sub-licensed to in North America, Camada in Brazil, Darplas in Latin America, Leygapack in Europe, and Kyodo Priting in Japan, among others.

Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics Asia Pacific Commercial Vice-President Mark Saurin said: "Dow is working at the intersections of the sciences to create innovations that will support the growth in food production and conservation needed to feed China's population."
