Sumitomo Demag announces Arabian partnership to promote turnkey packaging cells

Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery GmbH (Schwaig, Germany) is working with Showrann Trading & Co. (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) to expand its distribution and service networks into the Middle East and the Arabian peninsula in particular. The company has announced a collaboration with Showrann to offer turnkey production systems built around Sumitomo Demag injection technology and including related peripheral and automation components, specifically targeting packaging production.

Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery GmbH (Schwaig, Germany) is working with Showrann Trading & Co. (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) to expand its distribution and service networks into the Middle East and the Arabian peninsula in particular. The company has announced a collaboration with Showrann to offer turnkey production systems built around Sumitomo Demag injection technology and including related peripheral and automation components, specifically targeting packaging production.

Christian Renners, general manager business unit sales and after sales at Sumitomo (SHI) Demag, said his company decided to work with Showrann, which is located in Olaya District of the capital Riyadh, on the basis of its well established presence in the "ever more prospering" Near and Middle East, adding that its new partner has more than 10 years of experience in polymer processing.

Elsewhere in the region, Sumitomo Demag has sales and service representation through Polymac in Egypt (Cairo), ASAF Industries Ltd. in Israel (Holon), Industrial Development Co. in Iran (Tehran), and Barlo Plastik a.s. in Turkey (Istanbul).
