Global supplier of caps and closures United Caps (Luxembourg) announced today that it will acquire the caps, closures and handles business of Belgium-based Dewit Plastics (Schoten). The acquisition includes screw, tamper-evident and child-resistant closures as well as handles for large containers.

Dewit Plastics said that it will continue operation of its remaining injection molding and thermoforming businesses.

“We are pleased to be able to expand our already-broad portfolio to include these new product offerings,” said Benoît Henckes, CEO of United Caps. “Our clients turn to United Caps for innovative solutions to their closure needs, including bespoke solutions. By adding this new technology and expertise from Dewit Plastics, we better position ourselves as a single source for clients for their caps, closures and now handles requirements.”

United Caps said that it will be integrating the acquired production assets into its plant in Hoboken, Belgium, over the next several weeks.

By selling those parts of its portfolio, Dewit Plastics owner Alain Cap said that the company “will be better positioned to focus on our core injection molding and thermoforming businesses.”
