Moldmakers can reduce time and cost during injection molding by using MINIflow solid, one-piece, curved, tunnel-gate inserts, which allow parts to be gated at a nonvisible location. This also leads to improved part appearance. The manufacturer says these inserts are particularly suitable for smaller parts as they take up less space in a tool than a two-part gate. The gate inserts are available as a standardized component, with gates sized from .1 to .47 sq mm. EXAflow GbR, Gross-Umstadt, Germany; +49 6078 782310; www.exaflow.de
