FineAlyzer

The FineAlyzer, a device that measures fines and dust content in plastic pellets, now can collect and measure particles from 1.6-500 µm in accordance with the new ASTM Standard D 7486-08. Previously, 20 µm was the smallest dust particle classified by the European Federation’s wet test method, FEM 2482. The FineAlyzer avoids vigorous movement or friction of pellets during fines separation that can create additional fines. Pelletron Corp. (Lancaster, PA), maker of the FineAlyzer, worked with ASTM to establish the new standard.[email protected]
