Gravimetric metering for liquid dosing unit

Following in the footsteps of its TrueFeed gravimetric feeders for pelletized materials, Conair has introduced the TrueFeed LQ liquid feeder, promising processors improved accuracy and greater simplicity of operation, without color calibration, leading to easier set-up and perhaps use of less-expensive color.

The liquid container rests on a load cell that continuously monitors the loss-in-weight as material is transferred via the peristaltic pumping technology also used in volumetric dosers. For injection molding applications, the operator enters the part weight and color/additive percentage. The digital controller then automatically adjusts pump speed to keep metering the right amount regardless of changes in production rate, viscosity, or environment.

The control system is menu driven and stores up to 1500 process settings in addition to the actual dosed weights to support process validation. An electronic filter is incorporated into the weighing system to ensure weight information is not misinterpreted in high-vibration conditions. A wheeled trolley base, which is optional, allows the TrueFeed LQ to be a portable system.
