Pregis purchases Inter-Pac, adds PE foam rollstock/plank capacity

180,000-sq-ft Tupelo, MS manufacturing facility. Its 25 employees will be joining Pregis' 2000-member worldwide team.

Dache Davidson, director of marketing for Pregis, told PlasticsToday the acquisition supports strategic growth in the Southeast and Eastern regions of the country.

"It allows more penetration in existing markets, particularly in the Southeast and East Coast," he said. "This includes markets such as furniture, housewares, electronics, automotive, industrial and recreational products. The acquisition also allows Pregis to bring a wider product offering to Inter-Pac's existing customers."

Founded in 1960, foam extruder Inter-Pac is one of the first protective packaging products manufacturers in the U.S. Inter-Pac manufactures two types of PE foam: Inter-Foam, a light-weight, closed-cell, low-density polyethylene foam and I-Plank, a lightweight, polyethylene foam product that exhibits enhanced cushioning properties.

Protective packaging manufacturer Pregis serves a variety of consumer and industrial market segments including food, beverage, healthcare, medical devices, agricultural, e-commerce, retail, automotive, furniture, electronics, construction and military/aerospace. The company currently operates 25 facilities in 10 countries in North America and Europe.
