PET processors have a new resource from The Conair Group (Cranberry Twp., PA), which has formed a global team of specialists in that field for “helping these companies stay competitive by optimizing their process, cutting costs, and increasing efficiency,” according to the team's leader and global PET general manager, Gene Flockerzi. Other team members include Pete Stoughton, who brings experience with polymer drying; Jamie Jamison, PET product manager; Blake Steele, PET project manager; Jeff Conrad, PET applications engineer; John Hoover, parts analyst; and Greg Carter, service specialist.
Additional support will come from Satish Godse, who works at the NuVu-Conair joint venture plant in Ahmadabad, India, and Winson Huang at Conair's China HQ in Shanghai.
This announcement follows an agreement earlier this year between Conair and Husky Injection Molding Systems (Bolton, ON) (immnet.com/articles/2008/February/3524) through which the firms provide complete manufacturing systems for the PET preform market. Conair also introduced a recycled-air drying system called EnergySmart in 2007 that is designed to save energy for PET perform molders and other high-volume users of resin that must be dried at high temperatures (immnet.com/articles/2008/February/3524).
