Windmoeller & Hoelscher establishes subsidiary in China

German based engineering company Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) has set up its own subsidiary in China. Windmoeller & Hoelscher Machinery (Taicang) Co. Ltd. offices are located in Taicang, approximately 30 miles from the center of Shanghai.

Acting as a sales and service center, W&H Machinery (Taicang) will take on all tasks and activities that were handled by Johs. Rieckermann, which was W&H's agency in charge of the Chinese marketplace until the end of 2013. The Rieckermann staff so far in charge of W&H affairs have been taken over by the new W&H subsidiary to ensure continuity for W&H customers in China. This also goes for the Management Board: Jinghui Dai (General Manager), Klaus Meyer (Sales Manager) and George Yang (Service Manager), all of whom do have experience in the Chinese market.

(Ed. note: At Chinaplas 2013, PlasticsToday talked with a rep from W&H about the planned office in Shanghai.

W&H Machinery (Taicang) will take care of new machinery sales as well as spare and replacement parts for the W&H product line of machinery and equipment for flexible packaging applications, another domain being the service sector, including the installation of new equipment as well as maintenance and repair. Other future services to be offered to Chinese customers will be die-head service and on site training of customer personnel.

W&H is confident that with the new business location they will be able to share in the development of the constantly growing market in Middle Kingdom also in the time to come, the company said in a news release.

The official opening of W&H's new subsidiary Windmoeller & Hoelscher Machinery (Taicang) is planned to take place during Chinaplas to be held in Shanghai from April 23rd to 26th.

W&H is an international manufacturer of machinery and equipment for the flexible packaging industry. The product line encompasses blown and cast film equipment, flexographic and gravure printing presses, machines for surface finishing and for the processing of paper, films and woven plastic fabrics, as well as FFS (Form-Fill-Seal) packaging systems.
