Winners announced in sleeve label competition

The winners in the first ever Alexander Watson Associates (AWA) Sleeve Label Awards competition were recently announced during the AWA International Sleeve Label Conference and Exhibition 2015 held in Miami. Presenting the awards was AWA President and CEO Corey Reardon.

“Sleeve labeling is a key labeling and product decoration technology today, and is recognized as such,” said Reardon. “With these awards we want to highlight and promote the best-practice technology and material suppliers, printers, and end users who are excelling in this fast-growing and important labeling format.”

Full details of the winners in the AWA Sleeve Label Awards 2015, and entry forms for the 2016 competition, are available via the AWA website www.awa-bv.com/sleeve_awards.

Winning in the Best Sleeve Label 2015 & Heat TD Shrink Sleeve Category was CCL Label (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) for their production of Diageo’s Smirnoff Sours sleeve labels.  According to the judges, the entry is a 'sexy' label, it is innovative, exudes shelf appeal, and incorporates plenty of technology.  They were particularly impressed with the cold foil, holographic aspects, which were tactile.
