Robot combines benefits of horizontal and vertical gripping

NP_Arburg_ac.gifCombining the advantages of its horizontal and vertical robotic system variants, Arburg created the Multilift HV. Especially designed for use on the large Allrounders?630 S, 720 S and 820 S?the Multilift?s overhead gantry for lateral and longitudinal axes supports a maximum load weight of 20 kg. Height problems and mold installation restrictions are minimized because the robot is mounted transversely to the machine axis. Gripping is carried out horizontally from the back of the machine, which also provides the opportunity to position an injection unit vertically for use in multicomponent molding.Basic equipment includes five axes, four of which are servoelectric. Intervals for part removal are quick due to the simultaneous movements of two servo axes, and the system has the ability to set parts down near the floor. Programming and controlling is carried out centrally with the Selogica user interface, which offers graphical sequence programming and the option of saving the integrated data record of each Multilift together with the record from the mold.
