Rollepaal Will Form Venture In India

Rollepaal, Dedemsvaart, Netherlands, and DGP Windsor, Mumbai, India, will create a joint venture for manufacturing PVC and PE pressure pipe extrusion equipment in Ahmedabad, India. Rollepaal will hold the majority share of the venture. “Marketing could start as early as July, and the product range will encompass the latest Rollepaal extruder designs up to 1500 kg/h,” says Rollepaal CEO and managing director Rob G. Spekreijse.

DGP Windsor previously licensed older technology from Rollepaal for pipe extrusion lines up to 350 kg/h for the Indian market. “The joint venture will introduce new concepts into India, such as optimized thickness control and hollow pipe,” says DGP Windsor executive director R. R. Nagrajan. Plans are to export over 50% of production to Africa, the Middle East, and Asia excluding Japan.

Spekreijse says key components such as software and controllers will be sourced from Europe, while mechanical components such as castings will be procured locally at 20 to 50% of the cost of European parts. “The objective is to supply European technology at Indian prices,” says Spekreijse.
