A new twin-screw feeder’s dual-helix design reportedly combines fast, high-volume filling with accurate dribble flow at the end of the cycle. Metso Minerals Model TSF twin-screw feeder features two helixes, measuring 1.5 and 4 inches in diameter, that mount to an 18-by-22-inch hopper, with a throughput rating of 17 cu ft and 283 cu ft per hour, respectively. That’s at maximum RPM with 100% conveying and no slippage.
Metso says the unit is well suited for batching to weigh-hoppers; low loss-in-weight scale-monitored flow; low loss-of-weight batch applications with scales; drum and pail packout lines; and recipe-type batching by multiple computer-controlled units.
