OnePlastics invests €8 million in new manufacturing facilities

OnePlastics Group (Dublin) has invested more than €8 million at two of its Protech facilities in Ireland and China in order to increase production and develop solutions to clients in specific markets domestically and internationally. The expansion will create 25 new jobs.

Donagh Murphy, Director of Operations for Ireland and China, said: “We are building the Protech business for future growth and this investment in Cork and Shanghai is a sign of our commitment to the plastics industry. This investment is one of many we have made over the last 12 months and we will continue to invest where we feel necessary to strengthen our leadership position in our chosen markets.”

The investment in Cork, Ireland, will result in the development of a food-grade manufacturing facility with new equipment and automation tools at the site of Protech Performance Plastics in Cork. The investment will enable Protech to produce innovative packaging products to support the growing Irish food industry.

The second investment will be at Protech Plastics China in Shanghai that will double in size to 50,000 square feet to cater for rising customer demand. The facility supplies engineering products to the high tech computer industry. It also provides high volume assembly and complete supply chain management.

Protech supplies leading-edge containers to a range of customers and designs and manufactures specialist plastic components for multinational firms in the nutrition, pharmaceutical and data storage sectors.
