New Versions Of Virtual Sampling And Color Visualization Software Allow For Accurate Inkjet Printing

With Colorite version 3.0.2 software, Datacolor says the entire suite of Colorite products (ImageMaster, ImageMatch and ImageSync) now offer IM Proof Calibrated printing for desktop inkjet printers, which is said to 'dramatically improve' printed color accuracy.

This calibration can be applied to any commercially available inkjet printer, and is standard with ImageMaster and optional with ImageMatch and ImageSync. All three products enable accurate visualization of actual and predicted colors from recipe formulation software for numerical and visual comparisons among designers and color specifiers, as well as their respective color labs and manufacturers.

"A comprehensive color management system is only as good as the ability to communicate color among all parties involved in the color cycle," says Terry Downes, Datacolor's Business Area Manager for Color Communications. IM Proof lets users easily display, discuss and approve color right from an ink jet printer.

Other new features in Version 3.0.2 are a hot link to Datacolor's ColorTools QC software, support for Windows 2000 and ME, the ability to use customer-specific colorant files and the ability to accurately reproduce the color of glossy materials on a monitor.

Also, for the first time, Colorite automatically installs customer libraries during software installation. This feature allows Datacolor customers to distribute libraries of their colorants and related items for immediate use by customers and suppliers.
