Quickparts adds 3D STL viewer to online quoting

Quickparts, a rapid manufacturer of prototypes and production parts, announced the release of the new MyQuote3D Instant Quoting STL viewer. MyQuote3D allows the user 3D access to STL files for viewing purposes without requiring any other CAD program. MyQuote3D is a desktop application that also enables users to access Quickparts’ patented QuickQuote system, which analyzes 3D CAD data to produce instant online quotes. This technology also eliminates the typical wait time for traditional RFQ’s. MyQuote3D is available to engineers and buyers who want and need a seamless process for ordering custom-designed parts.

MyQuote3D is fully loaded with a variety of innovative new features, including the ability to detect thin walls, bad edges and flipped triangles, view and quote both individual parts and assemblies, and add text annotations to a file.

Users of MyQuote3D will be able to load their CAD model sets from their computer, select a manufacturing process, quantity, and materials, then click on “Create Quote.” MyQuote3D will then instantly produce and display a binding quote for the manufacturing of the user’s parts. To place an order with Quickparts the user clicks on “Buy” and the customer’s CAD data and project specifications are automatically uploaded for secure delivery to Quickparts. Currently in Beta testing, MyQuote3D is available at www.quickparts.com/myquote3d for a limited time.
