Web-exclusive: 3D laser scanning system distribution deal

To meet increased demand for its laser scanning systems throughout Mexico, Laser Design Inc. (Minneapolis, MN; www.laserdesign.com) inked a distribution agreement with Borbolla Metrology (Saltillo, Mexico), allowing Borbolla to provide sales, support, and training for the laser systems. Saltillo, located in Coahuila State just south of the Texas border, is becoming a manufacturing center for automotive molding, with GM, Delphi, Honda, Nissan, Ford, and Volkswagen plants located in the area. The laser scanning systems are said to be ideal for inspection, reverse engineering, and product design applications typical for the automotive manufacturing sector in Mexico.
