Once purely an injection molder of automotive parts and systems, German processor Sauermann recently expanded its skills set to include profile extrusion. The company tasked KraussMaffei Berstorff to supply the profile extrusion line, a KME 60-36 B/R single-screw extruder.
Sauermann's new extruder is helping it to round out its offerings. |
The processor is based in Schrobenhausen, not too far north of Munich, home of the machine manufacturer. Sauermann's specialty is molding of components for trucks and other commercial vehicles, with its projects including plastic tanks, containers, and mudguards. The company already operates several KraussMaffei injection molding machines.
The new profile extrusion line was supplied as a complete turnkey system. Sauermann is using the line to produce polyolefin truck components—anti-splash guards and fixing profiles, as well as side rail covers. —[email protected]
