Equipped with its new ValPaint software, two new six-axis painting robots—the RX160EX and the RX160EXL CS8C EX—have been added by Stäubli Robotics (Duncan, SC) to its lineup, bringing the number of such robots it offers to 10. Both are approved by KEMA, the transnational certification organization for painting, coating, aggressive solvent-based cleaning, and explosive ordinance assembly/decommissioning applications. Key features of Stäubli’s RX Series paint robots include a rigid enclosed structure, multiple mounting configurations, an expansive working envelope, and a small footprint.

Its versatile new ValPaint software provides easy programmability and an application-tuning interface for all painting parameters, according to the company. ValPaint eases the creation of painting jobs by using predefined functions to build a variety of different possible scenarios, all while making the tuning of paint parameters quick and easy. In fact, painting applications can be modified without stopping production.—CK
