Automated mold design guide

A guide is now available to help automate the mold design process. The guide is intended to help moldmakers who are new to CAD/CAM select a suitable design system while ensuring that those companies already using CAD/CAM obtain the maximum benefit from their investment.

The guide details every stage in the development of a mold, from receipt of a CAD model of the product to the manufacture and assembly of the various components. All preparatory steps needed to analyze, repair, and modify a mold for manufacturability, as well as those needed to construct the mold, are detailed.

The CD-ROM uses demonstrations to show how the CAD/CAM system selects, modifies, and positions the various components in the tool. Video simulations are also included to explain how mold components operate during processing.
