Box filling station automatically fills and stacks totes

A fully automatic box filling station for injection molders fills and vertically stacks totes with molded parts. The Box Filling Station Type 3056 does not require an operator and needs little maintenance. It has three stations: the empty container magazine, the full container magazine, and the oscillating filling position. Up to 10 empty totes can be loaded into the station's magazine. As the molding machine produces parts, it discharges them onto a pre-existing conveyor. An empty tote is transported to the oscillating filling position and automatically filled to a user-specified part count.

Once filled, the tote is moved by pneumatic cylinders to the filling station's full container magazine and stacked in a vertical arrangement, which allows the filling station to make use of previously unusable space above the machine. When the full-container magazine has reached capacity, the system stops automatically and alerts plant personnel that it is ready for more empty totes.

The filling station measures 18 sq ft and is mounted on lockable casters, allowing a single filling station to be used in a number of positions. It requires an electrical connection and 90 psi of plant air, and costs $13,000.
