CBW Automation to debut the SSE robot at NPE2015

CBW Automation, a designer and manufacturer of customized high-speed automation systems for the injection molding industry, debuts its newest product – the SSE robot. The SSE is CBW’s most technologically advanced robot available and expands on CBW’s fundamental speed advantage of high flow vacuum. The SSE will be demonstrated at NPE in the Engel booth W1303 using a 2x4 stack mold in a 720-ton ‘e-speed’ molding machine.

Developed by CBW, the high flow vacuum system has been used for decades to help customers achieve the fastest possible transfer of parts from mold to automation for down- stream operations. With the high flow vacuum system, productivity is optimized with an intrusion time of less than 0.5 seconds. Additionally the SSE robot can recognize that the vacuum has been achieved in as little as 60 milliseconds.

While CBW is known for its high-speed retrieval systems, the newest design of the SSE robot incorporates a strip stroke. Combining the high flow vacuum and the strip stroke feature provides the following benefits:

• Allows for more complex mold and part geometries
• Allows for undercuts to be stripped quickly
• Allows for the robot to follow the motion of the mold for unscrewing or more complex ejection of parts

As with all CBW automation systems, the SSE robot comes fully tested, has a solid steel frame construction and PC-based control platform allowing remote diagnostics and trouble- shooting. Additionally, the SSE robot is backed by a one-year parts and service warranty, as well as CBW’s robust service and parts department.
