Fully automatic dual coiler facilitates installation jobs

The MWB fully automatic dual pipe coiler includes intermediate strapping for large coils. Such large coils having only exterior strapping tend to be sizeable products to unroll out in the field. For example, a coil measuring 1300 mm diameter and 750 in width with a pipe diameter of 32 mm contains more than 500 m of finished pipe. By including strapping at intermediate positions, the overall package is separated into manageable sections for easier handling. The risk of wasting opened coil is reduced. This unit eliminates the additional rewinding process after extrusion. At predefined lengths, the extrusion line accumulates pipe while the MWB coiler starts strapping. Once intermediate strapping is completed, the coiler takes in the ready pipe and synchronizes itself again with the extrusion output. A new coil is simultaneously started at the coiling position. Finished coils are automatically ejected onto a trolley for movement to storage. Maillefer SA, Ecublens, Switzerland; +41 21 6944111; www.mailleferextrusion.com
